About us

132 (North Berwick) Squadron was created to give young people in East Lothian exceptional opportunities to learn, develop new skills, and take pride in their achievements. We are committed to building a thriving, supportive community where every cadet can gain valuable experience and grow into a confident, capable individual.

As part of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, we offer a unique blend of aviation, adventure, and personal development. Our squadron provides a safe, inclusive environment where young people can challenge themselves, discover new interests, and build skills that last a lifetime.

Who Can Join

We welcome young people aged 12–17 from North Berwick, East Lothian, and surrounding areas. No prior experience is needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to try something new.

What Cadets Can Experience

Cadets at 132 Squadron have access to an extraordinary range of activities, including:

  • Flying and aerobatics Air experience flights, aviation training, and opportunities to explore aerospace and RAF operations.

  • Adventure and expeditions Hillwalking, camping, fieldcraft, leadership exercises, and expeditions across the UK and abroad.

  • Sports and competition Athletics, team sports, and inter‑squadron competitions.

  • Target shooting Safe, structured marksmanship training with qualified instructors.

  • Music and band opportunities Join a band, perform at events, and develop musical skills.

  • Qualifications and awards SQA points, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, leadership qualifications, first aid, radio, and more.

  • Camps and courses Local, regional, and national camps, plus specialist courses across the UK and overseas.

Many of our former cadets have gone on to achieve great success in both civilian and military careers, using the confidence and skills they gained here as a foundation for their future.
