Cadet Uniforms
We are delighted your child is considering joining the Air Training Corps. This page offers a clear overview of the different uniforms and how they are to be worn
NO 2A - LIGHT BLUE UNIFORM
NO 2 (Full) - LIGHT BLUE UNIFORM
The NO 2A uniform is an Air Cadet’s most formal dress, mainly used for formal events like public parades, events on your squadron or in your wing. This uniform will be provide, female cadets can choose between Skirt or Trousers. The NO 2 (Full) is the same as the NO 2A uniform but also includes a jumper/jersey. This uniform will be provided but Cadets will need to sort out their own shoes.
This uniform consists of:
- Trousers - Worn with Black Socks
- Skirt - Worn with tights, which should be 15 Denier (nearly black)
- Wedgwood Shirt (Long Sleeved)
- Jumper
- Belt - Worn underneath the jumper (White belts may be worn, when directed, outside the jumper)
- Beret
- Black Tie - To be tied using a Windsor Knot
- Brassard - Rank slides/lanyard where appropriate are always on the outside of the jumper
- Parade Shoes - Cadets to provide
NO 2C - Dark BLUE UNIFORM
This uniform is an Air Cadet’s standard working dress uniform. Worn usually wear on a squadron evening for most general activities.
This uniform consists of:
- Trousers - Worn with Black Socks
- Skirt - Worn with tights, which should be 15 Denier (nearly black)
- Working Blue Shirt - (Sleeves can be rolled up or down)
- Jumper
- Belt - Worn underneath the jumper (White belts may be worn, when directed, outside the jumper)
- Beret
- Brassard - Rank slides/lanyard where appropriate are always on the outside of the jumper
- Parade shoes - Cadets to provide
NUMBER 3 (MTP) UNIFORM
This uniform is mainly used for fieldcraft and shooting activities but can also be used for other challenging or dirty work. It is designed to withstand a lot of activity and wear and tear.
This uniform consists of:
- Trousers
- T-shirt - colour should match/be similar to the MTP
- Shirt
- Smock
- Beret
- Belt - Stable belts may be worn with this uniform, except when ‘in the field’
- Boots
This uniform is not provided to Cadets, but there are some occasions when there may be spare uniform items available, so please do check with Squadron.
