Joining the Royal Air Force Air Cadets opens the door to aviation, adventure, new skills, and experiences you will not find anywhere else. At 132 Squadron, we are here to help you discover your potential — not to recruit you into the military. We focus on your development, confidence, and opportunities.

Who can join

The Air Cadets is open to all young people aged 12–17 who are in S1 or above, regardless of gender, background, nationality, or ability. Equality and inclusion are central to our ethos. You can register interest at any point between your 12th and 17th birthday. If you’re not quite old enough yet, you can still fill in the form — we’ll contact you as soon as you become eligible.

Intake nights

132 Squadron recruits through intake nights, held twice a year in January and September. These informal evenings introduce you to squadron life, allow you to meet cadets and staff, and give you the chance to explore our HQ.

During an intake night, you will:

  • Learn what the RAF Air Cadets offers

  • Tour the squadron HQ

  • Meet current cadets and staff

  • Ask any questions you may have

If you choose to join, you’ll attend an Induction event, after which you can begin parading with the squadron.

Once you register your interest, we will contact you 3–4 weeks before the next intake night with full details. Please check your email regularly around this time so you don’t miss your invitation.
